Drainage Matting

Drainage matting for supporting soft cheeses on a draining rack with open- ended moulds. Support underneath hard cheese moulds while in the press.

For soft cheese we recommend covering the plastic mat with a milk filter paper before filling the mould with fresh curds to avoid sticking. Plastic matting may also be used to line maturing racks/shelves for hard cheese.

Matting may be sterilised using a weak solution of hypochlorite, rinsed and allowed to drip dry before and after use.

Moorlands stock 3 different types of plastic matting, each providing a slightly different service. Quite often, choosing the right one will depend on the intended use.
